My Values
MY COMMITMENT TO MY CLIENTS IS THE KEY TO MY SUCCESS

More About Me…

I was born and raised in the village of Mirfield, West Yorkshire. Throughout my school years I always excelled in the artistic topics, from making Christmas decorations out of egg boxes and foil to having my polystyrene framed painting of a giant displayed in the local library. This led to me heading down the creative route in school and college, choosing subjects such as Art & Design as my main focus.

After contemplating a career in the Police Force, it was by chance that I became a Graphic Designer after my uncle invited me to work for him as an Apple Mac Operator where I was taught the fundamental Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop basics. From then on I was hooked, I thrived on the daily challenges that teaching myself brought (and I still do!!) however frustrating it can get it still gives me a great sense of achievement. I went on to land my desired job in Liverpool and thus began a varied and interesting career spanning over two decades.

So to sum it all up, I have been a graphic designer for print and web since 1996 working for the NHS, International Pharmaceutical Companies, Printers and a Design Studio in a small family run business. However in 2008 after being made redundant whilst on maternity leave, I decided that now was the time to start my own business, the imaginatively titled Jelli’s Design (get the play on my maiden name? – Jennifer Ellis), to provide the best possible design and marketing services whilst also having the flexibility to juggle work with being a mum to my now 14 and 10 year old daughters. I love the fact that I can take them to school or go to the gym, so working the hours in the day that’s not the conventional 9am-5pm suits me just fine!!

With a hunger to constantly grow and evolve as a designer, I have a genuine passion for art, typography, design, technology and creative thinking.
